A winter bunting with Whiff of Joy

Finally! I know it has been a while. December is most hectic at home and at work. I am praying that I will find the strength to tackle everything that is thrown at me.
I have not had a lot of spare time to craft and it has seriously bugged me, but I did manage to work on some things that I had going already.
I made a little home décor piece for the winter season and used Whiff of Joy stamps. Well, they might not be all the same brand, but they are definitely by Elisabeth Bell.
Here it comes;

3 triangles from grey cardstock covered with Marianne Design Vintage Christmas papers.

 Spellbinders snowflakes covered in Glimmer Glaze in Waterfall and white pompom trim embellish the banner.

Melissa Frances snowflake border punch with cream coloured dewdrops in the centres A little puffy stuff from Woodware to create a fluffy effect on the clothing..

 I didn't take a picture of the hanging banner, but you get the idea. I have hung this from the banister of the stairs in our hallway.

 Just some close-ups of the 3 images which I have painted with Cosmic Shimmerz paints.

 Just look at that lovely sparkle! It adds so much more to the festive season, don't you think?

Little nurse

Another card to share today. I found this cute little nurse stamp from Whiff of Joy.
I used October Afternoon papers and some cuts from the Home Décor cartridge. She is coloured with Copics.

She is stamped on watercolour paper, which allows a more vintage feel when colouring. The downside is that it soaks up a lot of the Copic ink. The little flowers are also Marianne design and the pearls are Papermania.

I had so much fun making this card and made more effort of it. I used Websters Pages, such lovely papers.
I made a removable tag that sits behind the card. It's my interpretation on Laura's sketch 64. It was about time I entered in a challenge and '2sketches 4you' always have lovely ideas.
I used 3 different collections of stamps; Whiff of Joy, Crafty Secrets and Papermania.

I 'm in the mood. It is so hard to resist Eline's Vintage papers.
I had to use them again. They are just so lovely.
When my DH saw this card. he said:" You're again using the same stamps." I replied that these are my winter/Christmas stamps. Then he said:" Ah, well then I need to get you some different ones this weekend." Isn't he sweet, the supporter of my hobby? So funny.

Here she comes... coloured with watercolors, one of my artworks that I prepared when on holiday.
Spellbinders Create a Flake 1, a button and some Viva pearl pen.
More posts should be following, but first some breakfast: hot coffee and a peanutbutter and chocolate cookie, home made, yummie! I found some Reese's peanutbutter cups and pulled a recipe of the web. Not good for my wasteline, but who cares right now?

... the next one won't be a Christmas card. I promise. Just sit this one out and the next one will be different. I do like this little snowman from Whiff of Joy an I am particularly keen on these papers. So this is a romantic one...

A rainy Thursday, but nothing can spoil the fun, as I have the day off work.

I have another Christmas card to share and I 'm sorry if you 're not in the mood just yet...

I have a lot to make for this season and I haven't scratched the surface yet.

I have a few stamped images ready, all coloured with watercolours. Although I had a limited color palette, I think they came out alright. They have to look a bit vintage/ shabby.

Simon Says... Challenge

Plantin Schoolbook Rickrack challenge

I got a little card together this morning. It's a perfect day outside, though the forecast is a volcanic dust storm/wind coming over the UK today, all the way from Iceland? So, just not hang the laundry out today...
I made this card using only cuts from the PS cartridge. Rickrack frame, label, flowers and leaves and even the blue and brown background are made with the Cricut. So versatile!
Of course I had to include some stamping.

Baby, it's cold outside

I know, it's been a while. Work is getting more and more stressfull.
We still can't find the staff. I had the job offer on my blog, but took it down after some time. After all, it is a hobby blog and it is up to Fresenius to do the right thing to recruit.
But I will mention it again, might be someone out there desperate for a job. Although I hope all of you are fine. This is not really a time you want to be job hunting. Any RN's after full-time or part-time employment and you want to try something new or you have renal background? Contact me, leave a comment under this post. I will get back to you. Our nurses will provide you training and mentoring on the job, I am a nurse and mentor myself. On to my cards now. I've got another Christmas one. I used a lot of glimmer and shimmer, it's Christmas at last. I made this square card and a little gift card holder.

I have one week annual leave and my mother has come over to stay with us until Boxing Day. It will be nice to spend Christmas together at last. It's been a few years since we've had that.

Today we had our first snow of the year. It didn't stay, but it was fun to see.

Here is my card for the CPS142. I did stick with soft colors this time. Only the cookie tray had to be red. Hihi. I do actually love the way it has turned out and I'm getting quite addicted to my JustRite stamps and embossing. I just wish I found a way to cut or punch out the 1 5/8" circle. Such an odd size.

A close up to let you have a peek at the embossed gros-grain ribbon -I havn't tried that before- and the neat sentiment from JustRite. I have now seen them online in England...

One last card to share. I finished this one yesterday and was on special request by my mum for my eldest sister, who 's going for an op. So the items are chosen by my mum, with a little help of course, or we still wouldn't have a card. Decisions, decisions,...

Supplies: paper by Basic Grey June Bug, green Coordinations cardstock, Cuttlebug Swiss dots, Spellbinders Deckled rectangles, Stamps: Whiff of Joy and lace rubberstamp -forgotten the brand-, Hero Arts sentiment, ink by Tsukineko and Ranger, Copics, Stickles and Anita's 3D glaze, flowers by Prima and Hero Arts, yellow ribbon and button brad by Memory Makers, Pearl Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels, lace from John Lewis.

I machine stitched the lace onto the card, although it was hard to do because of the embossed dots the card kept jumping left and right.

Hope my sister will like her card and I wish her love and a speedy recovery.

Christmas cards

Hello again, I 've been really busy today making cards and I have enjoyed every minute. We had a lot of heavy showers today, so that prevented me going out. As I had already 7 girls stamped, I made another 3 cards. I like this stamp so much, might make even more... The products used are mostly the same as before. Ink and color: Dew drops, Copics, Whispers. Paper and card: Basic Grey Wassail, Coordinations Nostalgia. Glitter: Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Stickles Star Dust and Diamond and Distress Antique linen. Brads: Basic Grey, MemoryMakers. Flowers: Prima and trim from stash. On this card I used an extra sequin from the Bead Shoppe behind the small Basic Grey brad. This card has ribbon from MemoryMakers FaLaLa range, the star brad was originally an old rose color, but I colored it with a Copic marker. The round sentiment is stamped with a JustRite stamper from my Monogram set. I inked it roughly with VersaMagic Dew Drop Red Brick and put Glitz-it glitter over the top. I like the way the cards have turned out. Hope you do to, Bye.

Card based on Friday Sketchers #62

Hello everyone, Finished a card last night that I based on sketch #62 of the Friday Sketchers, but it got to late to upload. I'm still getting my head around all this. It 's my first time to parttake in a card challenge. Having problems working out how to put in the hyperlink. Well, lets see if it works. Here is my card.Couldn't decide which is the better picture. I use a Daylight lamp, but I'm still not good at taking the pictures. LOL. Stamp: Lizie&Herb series, Ink: Brilliance Dew drop, Colors: Copics and Whispers, Star dust stickles, Memory makers Button brads, large brad Basic Grey Sugared, Paper: Basic Grey Wassail, Cardstock: Coordination's Nostalgia and DCWV Christmas glitter matstack, Cuttlebug embossing, Prima and Hero Arts Flowers, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist on flowers, Trim from stash. I guess it's a bit early for Christmas in July, but I couldn't wait anymore to use the Wassail paper. I bought it last winter in the sales from Crafts U Love. I love all Basic Grey papers. It's a good thing I live far from any of the craft shops I like, but then not so good... LOL. I bought the girl stamp at The Craft Barn, I have stamped 7 of these little girls and colored them in different color schemes ready to use and I have already cut some paper to make more Christmas cards. Talk about getting a head start.
